What display technologies does Brandmaier offer for station display boards?
We rely on two proven technologies: full matrix LED displays and energy-efficient LCD displays. LED displays are particularly suitable for large overview boards at central nodes, as they are easy to read even from a long distance. Our LCD displays consume less than 3 watts and can be powered entirely by solar and battery power — ideal for locations without electricity. 100% of both variants are developed and produced in Germany.
Can the station scoreboards display real-time data?
Yes, our display boards are connected to various real-time data sources via our own background system. The system reads timetable data and current departure times from various data providers and transmits them directly to the displays. Using a user-friendly web interface, you can also enter special texts, group ads and store voice announcements. This means that your passengers are always reliably informed.
Can the display boards be integrated into existing systems at the station?
Thanks to our own software development, we react very flexibly to new interfaces. Integrating our DFI ads into an existing passenger information system is no problem. We support all common data formats — including VDV and OpenData — and quickly adapt the architecture to your specific use case as required.
Are there display boards for stations without electricity connections?
That's exactly what we designed our low-power LCD displays for. With a power consumption of less than 1 watt on the display side, operation via a compact solar cell and lithium battery is completely sufficient. The displays can be integrated into existing steles or signs and are therefore an economic and sustainable solution, particularly for smaller stops and rural train stations.
What does the support for station display boards look like after installation?
We offer lifetime support for all of our products. The background system monitors the status of all displays in real time and automatically reports faults via email to the customer and our service. Even for ads with more than 15 years of operating time, individual components can be replaced — thanks to our long spare parts warranty and complete in-house production in Horb am Neckar.
